Online School Honors Class of 2018 with In-Person Celebration
EUFAULA, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Alabama
Virtual Academy at Eufaula City Schools (ALVA-ECS) will celebrate
the Class of 2018 at an in-person commencement ceremony on Friday, May
18, alongside the graduating class from Eufaula High School. An online
public school program authorized by the Alabama State Department of
Education and the Eufaula City Schools, ALVA-ECS is available
tuition-free to students across the state.
Of this year’s graduating class of 26 ALVA-ECS students, ten are
graduating as members of the National Honors Society. Collectively, the
class reports having been offered more than $230,000 in scholarships,
and reports having been accepted to colleges and universities across the
country, including: University of Alabama, Auburn University, University
of Montevallo, University of West Alabama, Champlain University, Florida
Southern University and Wallace Community College.

that best supports their unique needs and sets them up for long term

ALVA-ECS students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects
and a host of electives, and attend live virtual classes taught by
state-licensed teachers. ALVA-ECS also offers student clubs, field
trips, social outings, community service opportunities and other
activities to foster a sense of school community, such as this week’s
