Shyy will remain as an advisor at GREE Ventures

Albert Shyy has announced he has stepped down as Principal of GREE Ventures. He will, however, continue to serve as an advisor.

“Today is my last day with GREE Ventures and I am truly thankful for the opportunity to have worked with such an amazing team and company,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Shyy told e27 he will be heading up the Singapore office of a later stage fund. He did not disclose details but said that an announcement will be made in the coming weeks.

“I think there is still a huge gap in later stage funding in the region. So I am excited at the opportunity to help shape that part of the ecosystem, particularly with all of the interesting series A deals I’ve seen over the past couple of years,” said Shyy.
On the future of GREE Ventures, he said:
“They raised a second fund and will be announcing a few deals we’ve done in this region and India soon.”
Shyy first joined the Singapore-based branch of GREE Ventures in 2014. Before that, he was a Director at Rocket Internet’s Lazada Group.
