Eight startups from India have been selected for Google’s Launchpad Accelerator programme to be held in the US next month.

The startups are Doormint, Hola Chef, JustRide, Nestaway, Super, Murmur, English Dost and FranklyMe.

Launchpad is an initiative by Google to connect with select startups from India, Brazil and Indonesia. The event kickstarts on January 18, 2016 at its global headquarters in Mountain View.

The programme will host a total of 24 startups from across these countries.

Companies participating in the event will undergo an intense two-week mentorship programme. They will also receive US$50,000 in seed funding without any equity, besides a US$250,000 each. This is in addition to access to Google’s products such as Maps and Ad-Words.

Participants shall also receive financial assistance for office space in a city of their choice.

During the event, the companies will work with Google’s team on product life-cycle and identify gaps or areas of growth.

The programme is built on the company’s Launchpad initiative and is a long-term engagement with promising startups to give them access to the best resources, access to mentors and help accelerate their product.

Here is a brief of the eight startups:

Doormint: An on-demand urban laundry service. It is currently operating in Mumbai, Bangalore and Gurgaon.

Hola Chef: It offers food prepared by select chefs and delivers it to customers in their preferred time slots.

JustRide: An online aggregator of self-drive car rental services.

Nestaway: A home rental network that enables owners to rent to tenants online, assisting both owners and tenants during discovery, fulfilment and post-tenancy services.

Super: A mobile app that helps you discover workplaces, evaluate them and take micro-interviews, almost instantly.

Murmur: A technology platform for trend-centric media for millennials, offering a personalised blend of photos, videos, GIFs, news and blogs.

English Dost: A mobile app aims to revolutionise the way spoken English is learned for young, job-seeking Indians.

FranklyMe: An app that lets you express your beautiful videos with ease through video filters and then share them across any platform.
