tech in asia jakarta partner events

In less than two weeks, Tech in Asia will play host to over 3,000 attendees at the fourth edition of our Jakarta conference. It will be the largest ever in terms of attendee numbers and also stage content, with the debut of five expert stages.

But the action doesn’t stop here. We’re going a step further to provide each individual, whether you are a Tech in Asia Jakarta conference attendee or not, opportunities to connect with investors, VCs, and like-minded folks in the tech community. During the week of our conference (November 9 onwards), we have collaborated with the likes of Uber, Marvelstone, East Ventures, and Growth Hacking Asia to bring an awesome lineup of activities for you to participate in. Everyone is welcome to join!

Please note that the following events are open to all. You need not be a Tech in Asia Jakarta 2015 conference attendee to be eligible to attend them.

The process is simple – interested participants can request an Uber using the code UBERPITCHJKT and wait to get picked up. Your pitching time starts once you’re in the car. This is limited to two loops around Jakarta’s Pacific Place Mall, so get ready to hone your pitches.

Participating investors include Alpha JWC Ventures, Ideosource, Monk’s Hill Ventures, Convergence Ventures, East Ventures, Skystar Capital, SMDV, Fenox Venture Capital, and Mountain Kejora Ventures.

2. Attracting talent to your startup (by East Ventures)

If you’re in a startup, you know by now that recruiting the right talent is hard. Recruitment is more often than not one of the top challenges faced when founders grow the company. It’s especially tough for early-stage startups to win the talent war when you put them against huge corporations or post-series A startups.

To help ease the recruitment challenges, East Ventures is inviting pre-series A startups to join in a sharing session on tips for how to attract talent. Startups from across diverse industries will be present to share real case studies as well as insights on lessons learnt.

Date: Monday, November 9
Time: 7pm to 10pm
Price: Free
Venue: EV Hive (The Maja)

With Asia being a fragmented region made up of many countries with varying levels of market development, regulatory requirements and customer needs, the opportunities within each market differ. The session will take a deep look into the similarities and differences between developed and emerging markets, and how these markets with different stages of technology, innovation and acceptance rates interact within the ecosystem in Asia.
