#USA Marissa Mayer will stay at Yahoo after sale (for now)

Now that Verizon has acquired Yahoo for $4.83 billion, what will happen to its CEO Marissa Mayer? Well, in a surprise move, the former-Googler says she’s planning to stay with the company.

It was widely expected that Mayer, who has been CEO for just under four years, would leave the company in the event of a sale. But that won’t be the case. At least, for now.

In an email sent to staff (which was reblogged to Mayer’s Tumblr account), Mayer said: 

It’s not clear how long Mayer will stay at Yahoo or in what capacity. In a press release about the sale, Verizon said it will be integrating Yahoo into with AOL “under Marni Walden, EVP and President of the Product Innovation and New Businesses organization at Verizon.” Read more…
