#Africa 15 startups selected to pitch at Battlefield Africa

//

TechCrunch has announced the names of the 15 startups that will pitch at the first Battlefield Africa competition, which takes place in Nairobi tomorrow (October 11).

Disrupt Africa reported in May the TechCrunch Battlefield Africa 2017 was coming to Africa for the first time this year, offering startups the chance to win US$25,000 in non-equity funding.

The event takes place tomorrow, and is viewable online via this livestream. Fifteen startups from across the continent have been chosen to take part, with startups competing in three categories.

WeCashUp, Form+, Delivery Science, Abacus Invest, Sellio and Lori Systems will be pitching in the Productivity and Utility category, while Big5 Games, Tango TV, Lomay and SynCommerce will take part in the Gaming and Entertainment category.

The Social Good category is made up of ConnectMed, M-Shule, Dot Learn, Talent2Africa, and AgroCenta.

Each startup will pitch their business to a panel of judges, which will select a winner in each of the three categories. One overall winner will win US$25,000 and an all-expenses paid trip for two to San Francisco to compete in TechCrunch’s flagship event Disrupt SF 2018.
