#Africa Cape Town startup Eventerprise taking part in Web Summit in Dublin

Cape Town-based startup Eventerprise, an online portal that allows event hosts to source, review and contact event suppliers, will take part in the annual Web Summit event in Dublin, Ireland as it looks to expand globally.

Formed one year ago, Eventerprise claims to provide event hosts with significantly better events with less stress, and suppliers with access to new clients.

Having used South Africa as a test-case, and reached over 7,000 registered suppliers and testimonials, the startup is now at Web Summit – the largest meeting of tech-minded investors in the world – in order to take its idea global.

Eventerprise said Dublin was the next step in its investor relations, as it seeks the right partners to help it bring its solution to other continents, beginning with Europe and followed by the United States (US).

“Web Summit in Dublin will allow us to meet like-minded investors to really put some muscle behind Eventerprise,” said co-founder Charlie Wright. “First we fix eventing at home, next – the world! We’ve been in training for a year, but it’s finally time to stretch our legs.”

South Africa has previously been well represented at Web Summit, with personal finance startup Bsavi last year launching its spend management app at the event. Cape Town-based content discovery platform 8Bit was the only African semi-finalist at the global startup competition PITCH, co-located with Web Summit.

Eventerprise was launched by Wright and his business partner Götz Thümecke after they attended a two-day conference together in Munich, where everything was going wrong.

“The only thing worse than the boredom on the faces of the attendees was the look of panic on the face of the event organiser. We just said to each other, ‘This is so wrong – we can fix this,” said Thümecke.
