#Africa iHub Consulting launches developer-on-demand service

//

The consulting arm of Kenyan innovation space iHub has launched a developer-on-demand service allowing local companies to tap into the hub’s development capacities when necessary.

Launched in 2012, iHub Consulting aims to meet the technology needs of organisations by helping them tap into the talent pool provided by iHub’s community of freelancers such as project managers, developers, designers and quality assurers.

The division has now extended its scope, allowing companies to make use of iHub Consulting’s team of 16 developers, that uses modern development practices.

“We can easily plug into your existing team and get things moving faster,” iHub Consulting said.

“You don’t have a team yet? We can create one for you too. Our SCRUM masters will coordinate the team to ensure the project is delivered well.”

Local startup Ongair, a service that enables businesses to engage with their customers on instant messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram and WeChat, is the new service’s first client.

Disrupt Africa reported last week the iHub had raised funding from a number of local investors in order to help it scale operations, tighten up its service offerings and reach sustainability.

The space currently has more than 16,000 members, and also includes the m:lab incubator, iHub Research and Gearbox. iHub co-founder Erik Hersman declared the “next chapter” for the hub.
