#Africa Kenya’s C4DLab seeks IoT startups for AfTIA programme

//

The C4DLab incubator at the University of Nairobi is seeking Internet of Things (IoT) startups to join its Africa Technology and Innovation Accelerator (AFTIA).

Disrupt Africa reported in June last year C4DLab had launched AfTIA, claiming it to be “forward-looking and radical”, while in December it accepted four Kenyan startups into the first cohort.

It is now seeking IoT startups to join the programme, and will run a one-day back-to-back pitching session aimed at selecting startups.

The pitching event is designed for up to 10 startups also are looking to graduate from the seven-week Design for Internet of Things (D4IoT) programme, run with the support of Intel an UNICEF.

C4DLab has been a hive of activity in recent months, with the hub signing partnerships with both UNICEF and Intel, receiving KES1 million (US$9,900) from UN-Habitat to pilot a bike-sharing concept, and announcing the launch of a bi-annual event aimed at building a community of student innovators.
