#Africa Kenya’s Pezesha selected for US Blackbox accelerator

//

Kenyan fintech startup Pezesha has been selected to take part in the Silicon Valley-based Blackbox Connect 20 accelerator programme.

Pezesha is a peer-to-peer micro-lending marketplace, which has developed a robust credit scoring model built on both conventional and unconventional forms of data.

The startup is able to provide credit to low-income borrowers excluded by the financial system, and has in just 10 months of operation loaned money to more than 5,000 borrowers.

Having in June raised funding from DFS Lab after participating in a programme, Pezesha has now been selected for the two-week residential Blackbox programme.

Pezesha will benefit from connecting with fellow founders from more than 40 countries to share ideas, networks and partnerships, building relationships with the pool of experienced venture capitalists, and accessing Blackbox’s strategic resources.
