#Africa Traction Camp cohort convenes in Nairobi for bootcamp, Demo Day

//

The 20-strong cohort of the Traction Camp accelerator jointly run by the World Bank and Kenya’s iHub are convening in Nairobi today for a week-long bootcamp culminating in an investor Demo Day.

Disrupt Africa reported last year m:lab East Africa – which has since been subsumed into iHub – and the World Bank Group launched the Traction Camp initiative; one of a series of accelerator programmes being launched by the World Bank across Africa.

The initiative aims to help East African tech startups commercialise and scale innovative digital products.

20 startups from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda were chosen to join the six-month programme, which has featured personalised coaching from a team of mentors in the startups’ respective home countries.

The programme is now drawing to an end, and the international cohort is convening today in Nairobi for a week-long bootcamp.

The bootcamp will culminate in a Demo Day to be held at iHub on September 22, with the startups to pitch and showcase their products to local and international investors, potential partners, and other entrepreneurs.

Those interested in attending Demo Day can register here.
