#Africa Tunisian gaming startup Polysmart raises $600k

//

Tunisian gaming startup Polysmart has raised TND1.5 million (US$600,000) from CDC Gestion, a fund firm formed after a public-private partnership between private investors and the Tunisian government’s Deposit and Consignment Office.

Founded in 2015, Polysmart will use the funding to finish its flagship video game Veterans Online and expand into new markets.

The company said the investment was “historic” as it was the largest ever secured by a video game studio in Tunisia and throughout the Maghreb region.

“The importance of the amount awarded is an affirmation of confidence in the ability of the entire Polysmart team to achieve the objectives hoped for and thus to open the voice of financing to future projects in the field of e-Sports in Tunisia,” the company said in a statement.

“Thanks to our historic investors, represented by UGFS-NA, who facilitated and made this possible, and welcome to our new investor and partner, CDC Gestion. Proud to have you, all of us, and aware of our responsibilities at Polysmart.”
