5 Fun Facts Lazada 690

We already know that Lazada Philippines Co-Founder and CEO Inanc Balci can sell the Philippine street food called fishballs if you dare him.

This just shows the can-do attitude of Inanc, who has steered Lazada into successfully capturing 90 per cent of the online population in the Philippines. Lazada touts a direct audience of more than two million, making it one of the most popular e-commerce sites in the Philippines.

As part of our 5 Fun Facts series of articles where we get startup founders and executives to show their lighter side, Inanc gamely answered our five fun questions.

What is one thing that is definitely on your bucket list?

Wingsuit flying for a healthy dose of adrenaline (potentially the last one).

What is the oldest gadget you have that is still working?

I’m a gadget-holic and go through a lot of tech products. The oldest gadget that I still use is my laptop which I’ve been using over the last two years. The oldest gadget that I have in working condition (but don’t use) is a Nokia 8210 with a Navy blue front cover.

What is your favourite movie of all time and why?

Almost all Christopher Nolan movies and the original Matrix, which widened my creative spectrum during my childhood.

Which fiction book has influenced you most and why?

My all-time favourite book series is George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. It has influenced me in terms of strategic thinking 🙂

If you could travel back in time, where would you like to go or who would you like to meet?

I’d like to travel back to 1999 and meet Jack Ma before he founded Alibaba and offer a partnership.
