The building process took only three months to finish

E-commerce enabler company aCommerce today announced the completion of its new fulfillment centre in Cawang, East Jakarta, only three months since it opened two new hubs in Bandung and Surabaya.

Taking only three months to finish, the new fulfillment centre will be focussed on fashion products and is ready just in time for Ramadan, which is one of the peak shopping seasons in Indonesia.

The 7,000 sqm warehouse has a conveyor belt that decreases pick-packing time per order, four-levels of storage mezzanine that can be expanded to 17,000 square meter as ground space.

The centre will extend aCommerce Indonesia’s total storage capacity up to 4 million unit products, and the company claims that it could be considered the biggest e-commerce warehouse located in the heart of the city.

Within the last two years, the company claims that it has total ground capacity totaling 30,000 square meters.

“Setting up the warehouse from scratch within three months was challenging because apart from the overall warehouse construction, we needed to [set up the] required water piping, electrification, electrical cabling, network infrastructure, backup electrification and network provisions, CCTV, security, roof elevation, parking lot renovation, canteen renovation, and office,” explained Hadi Kuncoro, CEO of aCommerce Indonesia

“We also faced a challenging moment in the form of a flood during the rainy season some time ago, but in the end we are happy that we managed to solve it and [are] heading towards completion within such a strict timeline,” he added.

aCommerce Indonesia claimed that it is able to handle up to 10,000-12,000 outbound deliveries every day. With the addition of the new centre, the company projected that delivery numbers could triple — totalling up to 35,000-36,000 outbound deliveries within a 24/7 operational timeframe.
