Amadeus Next, a travel tech-focussed startup accelerator and incubation programme owned by Amadeus, today announced that it has secured partnership with Tune Labs, a Tune Group incubator and accelerator, to help boost the travel tech startup scene in Asia Pacific.

Through the new partnership, members of the Amadeus Next community can get access to customers and their much-needed validation, allowing startups to quickly prove their model or solution.

“Startups … play a significant role in shaping the future of travel and how we can evolve services and offerings to travellers. Partnering with Tune Labs is a huge milestone for Amadeus Next as we continue to build the leading travel tech startup community in Asia Pacific,” said Albert Pozo, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific, in a statement.

The programme cited market validation and gaining insights from industry experts as the main challenges faced by travel tech startups.

It will complement Amadeus Next’s existing offering which allow startups to develop new ideas and scale their businesses by leveraging technology, expertise, reach and funding.

An official statement by Amadeus Next also mentioned that Tune Groups founders Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun and Lim Kian Onn will offer ‘invaluable customer insight and expertise’ to the Amadeus ‘Next’ startup community through Tune Labs.

The partnership is expected to benefit not only startups in the field of travel tech, but also the travel industry in general and travellers themselves.
