ibox offers an mobile perspective to the FinTech space with iboxmpos

ibox is a growing FinTech company from Vietnam. Offering a product named iboxmpos, it gives brick-and-mortar merchants the ability to acquire card payments with mobile terminal connected to every smartphone – anywhere and anytime. With iboxPro sales and accounting analytics tools, entrepreneurs will see how their business works – both in little shops and in networks with tens of agents and offices.

Recently, ibox were participants in the Top 100 Vietnam Regional Qualifiers for the first time. The annual Top 100 Vietnam Regional Qualifier held in March was attended by teams hailing from Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea and Vietnam. Having been preparing for a long time, the team worked to gather lots of documentation, prepare a speech and a demonstration of our product. We were really excited to present ibox to the world!

We had five minutes for our speech but we can say that it was not enough. Perhaps we should have timed the presentation better, as other startups seemed to be able to deliver their pitches within the allocated time. Judges present were a mix of investors, FinTech-specialists and large company representatives from both within Vietnam and abroad.

Despite the fact that we do not win, the judges scored us well enough to be selected as one of 100 startups for exhibition at Echelon Asia Summit which will be held in Singapore in the middle of June.

The local event in Vietnam gave us a lot of exposure. We managed to meet lots of interesting people and get acquainted with many interesting projects. We got in touch with actual trends and popular directions on world market. We saw that lots of investors were very interested in vietnamese startups, and in time there might be more activity in the Vietnamese FinTech space.

Throughout our TOP100 journey, we felt that this is a priceless experience and a good opportunity to show our product. Post-show analysis of our speech shown that we made some mistakes in number of speakers and presentation size. Certainly, we will try to accommodate all the mistakes while preparing for our next presentation.
