The acquisition will significantly expand Flipkart’s offerings to the entire lifecycle of mobiles, IT products and consumer electronics — from sales to after-sales to repair services
Flipkart said in a statement that the deal will significantly expand its offerings to the entire lifecycle of mobiles, IT products and consumer electronics — from sales to after-sales to repair services.
F1 Info Solutions will be merged with Flipkart’s subsidiary Jeeves, a third-party service provider for home appliances and furniture.
As per the deal, F1 Info Solutions Co-founder and CEO Shammi Moza will join Flipkart as Senior Director and will continue to hold responsibility for the business.
Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said the acquisition will help it to give customers a comprehensive service ecosystem that takes care of the repair and service needs. “Flipkart is the top destination for mobile phones in India and having created the market for online smartphones from scratch, we’re now taking our offerings several notches higher.”
Founded in 2012, F1 Info Solutions has a repair service network of 158 centres in 135 cities. With close to 1,000 employees, the startup handles more than 50,000 service calls every month across the country.
