#Asia Let’s get to work: KerjaDulu gets US$5M from MNC Group

Apart from investing in the company, MNC Group will also utilise KerjaDulu’s platform in recruitment

Jakarta-based social networking platform for Indonesian job-seeking professionals and recruiting employers KerjaDulu announced today that it has received IDR66.5 billion (US$5 million) of funding from Indonesian conglomerate MNC Group. The startup also announced that David Fernando Audy, Director of the holdings’ media company MNC Media Group, will also join its board of commissioners.

The funding will be used to develop sustainable product and scale up the KerjaDulu’s operational, though KerjaDulu CEO Chris Liu did not elaborate further on the company’s plan to scale.

“Key [offering] that MNC Group brings to us is its business skills and sharpness, as well as its strong network. [Previously] KerjaDulu had received strong market traction from our angel investor [who invested] in October 2014,” said Liu.

MNC Group also stated that it plans to utilise KerjaDulu as its recruitment platform.

“MNC as a media company can help the market promotion of KerjaDulu. MNC itself employs more than 40,000 employees and is very active with recruitment. We can utilise KerjaDulu’s innovative social recruitment platform as our priority to hire talented people to join our company,” said Audy.

KerjaDulu was founded by Chris Liu and Bruce Sung. It was first launched in January 2014, and the startup claimed to have secured hundreds of thousands users on its platform.

Angel investor Budi Setiadharma, Chairman and President Commissioner of PT Astra International, sits on the company’s board of commissioners.
