#Asia Mobikon acquires MassBlurb to convert restaurants’ ‘likes’ and followers on social media into business

Mobikon, a customer engagement and marketing platform for restaurants with operations in various countries across Asia, has announced the acquisition of MassBlurb, an automated online marketing platform for restaurants.

The transaction details remain undisclosed.

The acquisition will enable Mobikon to offer customer engagement solutions on social networking platforms, allowing restaurants to generate social leads, converting likes and followers to business. Mobikon will also be able to offer website automation and cloud telephony integrated with CRM and automation in social media management.

MassBlurb Co-founders Sanket Shah and Pankit Chheda will be taking up key roles at Mobikon, with the former managing the key accounts and partnerships across the company, and latter working closely with Mobikon’s CTO for new product initiatives. The MassBlurb team will also join Mobikon.

Samir Khadepaun, Founder and CEO of Mobikon, said, “This is a strategic acquisition in line with our vision to be the single marketing and customer experience platform for restaurants. MassBlurb has been successful on social platforms for F&B, and Mobikon on the other hand has been very successful in India and Southeast Asia on its inStore engagement platform. Coming together we now have a significant market share with over 650 brands across India and Southeast Asia. We are planning to reach 800-plus leading restaurant brands by the end of this year.”

MassBlurb is a one-stop solution for all online presence and marketing automation needs. It automates everything a restaurant needs in the social space. It helps restaurants create their brand presence and increase their overall business with innovative technology.

The startup is currently working with over 200 premium restaurant brands across India. Headquartered in Mumbai, the startup has presence in seven cities across India.

Mobikon is a real-time customer engagement and automated marketing platform for restaurants. Its platform mEngage helps restaurants with a single view of customers across ordering, reservations, feedback and marketing channels.

The company has over 650 restaurant brands, including Radisson Hotel, JP Palace, Copper Chimney, Pind Baluchi and Pizza Express in India and Shankey’s Pizza, Swensens, City of Dreams, Secret Recipe, Red Crab Group, Minor Group and Select Group internationally.

Mobikon is present in Singapore, the Philippines, Manila, Dubai, Macau and Kuala Lumpur, besides India.

In October last year, Mobikon secured an undisclosed amount in funding from Life.SREDA, a Singapore-based fintech VC firm. Qualgro Investment Fund, an ASEAN VC firm focussed on technology, education, healthcare and logistics, also co-invested in the round.
