Mountain Kejora Ventures’ Andy Zain and celebrity couple Ashraf Sinclair and Bunga Citra Lestari also took part in the round
Crowdfunding-based on-demand concert platform KONSAATO today announced that they have received undisclosed pre-seed funding from Grupara Inc. Mountain Kejora Ventures Managing Director Andy Zain and celebrity couple Ashraf Sinclair and Bunga Citra Lestari also took part in the round.
According to Grupara Inc. Managing Partner Aryo Ariotedjo in a conversation with e27, KONSAATO plans to use the funding to focus on product development.
“As for marketing we plan to do it super organically as we want to rely on users or fans to share about [the platform], in order to start the projects [within it],” he said.
“And perhaps to also pay pre-booking fees for some of the international talents,” he added.
The involvement of Malaysian actor Ashraf Sinclair and Indonesian singer-actress Bunga Citra Lestari began when they expressed their interest of building a startup with a focus on music and entertainment industry.
“They are an old friend of mine … So I told them that there is this platform that is working on music and entertainment, and they’re interested,” Ariotedja said.
Grupara Inc. recently took part in services marketplace Seekmi’s Series A round.

KONSAATO was the runner-up of Startup Weekend Jakarta 2015 held in December at Freeware Space, South Jakarta, where the five co-founders first met each other. The startup claims that it only took three months for them to develop a working prototype of their product.
The platform allows users to pitch in an artist that they would like to perform in their city, and arrange for a crowdfunding effort to make their dream concert comes true.
According to KONSAATO CEO and Co-Founder Danny Widodo (who previously worked in the live entertainment industry), there is a lack of understanding from promoters and event organisers of what fans really want to see and how to make sure that it translates into sales, the problem which the platform tries to give solution to.
So far, KONSAATO had successfully brought Japanese Youtube singer-songwriter d-iZe and singer-songwriter Rie Fu to perform in Jakarta.
