#Asia Oops: OnePlus 3 specifications leaked 10 days before launch

A product page accidentally put on a sales website revealed all the particulars of the new OnePlus 3 device, including photos, specifications, and price

HAT FINAL

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus likes doing everything differently from other companies, and the same is true of the hype and buzz it creates ahead of the launching of its new smartphones.

It appears, however, that in contrast to the company’s previous devices – OnePlus 2, the One, and the X – with the 3, OnePlus is having a few extra problems with its new flagship device: constant leaks. Sales website OppoMart has now entered the picture by mistakenly posting the device’s product page, which obviously should have been posted only after the official launch, scheduled for June 14. The product page, of course, contains pictures, complete specifications, and even the price.

An advanced processor and an especially strong battery

Without unnecessary preliminaries, here is a look at the device’s specifications. According to the description on the website, which is currently unavailable, the OnePlus 3 follows the example of most of the year’s leading devices. It contains a Snapdragon 820 set of chips made by Qualcomm with an Adreno 530 graphic processor. The basic model of the device includes 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, while the premium model contains 6GB RAM. The device’s display has a 5.5-inch 1080p resolution screen.

If the particulars are accurate, the screen selected by the company is inferior to the QHD screens of other leading devices, but this compromise is not expected to affect most people, and the battery will last longer as a result. Here, OnePlus has chosen to include an especially strong battery with a 3,650 mAh capacity and high-speed charging. The device will have three models for built-in storage capacity: 64GB, 132GB, and 128GB, with no slot for extension.

Like other devices, such as Huawei’s Mate 8 and Xiaomi’s Mi 5, the device will apparently have a 16-megapixel front camera with a Sony IMX298 sensor. The camera will also contain an optical image stabilizer (OIS). The front camera will include an 8-megapixel sensor.

In addition, like last year’s OnePlus 2, the OnePlus 3 has a fingerprint reader in the front of the screen similar to the access for Samsung, and will, of course, run OxygenOS, the UI interface developed by the company based on Android Marshmallow.

How much will we pay for all this beauty? According to what appears on the website, the basic model will cost $370, compared with $330 for the OnePlus 2 when it was launched.

In any case, in order to obtain the full official particulars for this intriguing device, we will have to wait about 10 days for OnePlus’s official announcement. It is worth remembering that for the first time, OnePlus will be selling the new device directly, without its tiresome ordering system.
