Hong Kong-based digital logistics platform OpenPort today announced the appointment of Morten Damgaard as its new COO, starting from June 2016.

Based in Singapore, Damgaard will be in charge of managing the company’s day-to-day global operations, including ‘the alignment of the company’s investments with its competitive strategies.’

He will also be in charge of regional responsibility for OpenPort in Southeast Asia.

“I am excited to have been chosen to be part of this wave of innovation, and I look forward to working with the team to further drive growth and excellence for our company,” said Damgaard in a written statement.

Prior to joining OpenPort, Damgaard was CEO for Southeast Asia at Agility Logistics. He had also held a number of senior regional roles with the company in the Asia Pacific region.

Having been based in Asia since 1993, Damgaard previously held executive positions with Damco/Maersk Logistics in different Asian markets including Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
