Singtel is enlarging its role to help further Singapore’s Smart Nation ambitions. Today, the telco announced that it was launching a smart home solutions plan for consumers simply called “Singtel SmartHome”.
The IoT solution was created in partnership with Hanman International Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company that distributes fingerprint verification door locks.
Singtel will offer a Smart Hub that can connect and communicate with more than 200 compatible smart devices such as motion sensors, contact sensors and smart cameras, via Z-Wave Plus technology.
These devices include the Smart Plug, Motion Sensor, Contact Sensor, Remote Control Extender, Samsung Full HD WiFi SmartCam, Samsung Digital Door Lock SHS-DP728 or Samsung Smart door lock SHS-H505.

This IMDA-certified device will allow users to control their devices and set home automation processes via an app.
For example, homeowners can set air-conditioning and appliances to turn on automatically as soon as they get home. They can also be alerted when their young children return home from school via smart cameras and motion sensors.
Singtel Fibre Broadband customers can choose from two Starter Kits:
1. Starter Kit with Contact Sensor (Smart Hub with 16GB Micro SD card and contact sensor) at S$25 (US$18) per month on a 24- month contract.
2. Starter Kit with Smart Lock (Smart Hub with 16GB Micros SD card and Samsung Smart Lock SHP-DP727) at S$45 (US$32.50) month for 24 months.
These Starter Kits also come with free installation and free 24/7 after-sales support for two years. Non-Singtel fibre broadband customers can purchase the Starter Kits at a one-time-charge of S$650 (US$467.50) and $1260 (US$906) respectively.
