Singaporean co-working space Spacemob has announced it will launch a new co-working space in Singapore Science Park at the end of March 2017. This is part of a strategic partnership with Ascendas-Singbridge, which is a provider of sustainable urban and business space solutions in Asia.

The 14,000 sq ft space will be housed in Ascent, a new Ascendas-Singbridge development located opposite Kent Ridge MRT Station in Singapore Science Park 1.

Bringing startups closer to innovation

Spacemob’s new co-working space offers more than just a conducive work environment; its location at Singapore Science Park means that companies can also tap into key research and tertiary institutions, R&D, as well as tech communities located close by.

One of our objectives as a company is to enable space as a service and maximise space usage for our property partners. This will allow us to house a hundred companies and expand our co-working community at a convenient and accessible location,” said Spacemob Founder and CEO, Turochas “T” Fuad, in an official press statement.

With their track record in attracting members, community building, and integration of technology into coworking, Spacemob stands out as a key player in this rapidly emerging market,” said Ascendas-Singbridge Group CEO Miguel Ko.

Spacemob’s first co-working space is located in a 15,000 sq ft facility in downtown Singapore. It features several high-tech facilities including wireless payments and ability to book meetings via QR codes.

Among its more prominent tenants is global tech skills provider General Assembly.

In November last year, Spacemob raised a US$5.5 million seed funding (the largest seed round in Southeast Asia) from Vertex Venture Holdings, Alpha JWC Ventures from Indonesia and a number of undisclosed angel investors.

In 2017, Spacemob plans to expand its co-working spaces to Jakarta, Thailand and Vietnam.
