#Asia Sssst. Apple Pay users, here’s your cheat sheet for available rebates in Singapore

Find out which one gives the most exciting promotions for Apple Pay users

"Did you say cashback?"

“Did you say cashback?”

Yesterday, Apple announced its partnership with DBS/POSB, OCBC, Standard Chartered, and UOB in Singapore enabling Apple Pay for Visa and MasterCard credit and debit card holders. It got many of us excited at the e27 office and lunch today was pretty much about “first-time user” stories bordering on the magical with high hopes for the future.

My firsthand account: I enjoyed roughly 30 seconds of fame while making my first Apple Pay purchase at the supermarket. The queue behind me had curious looks as I placed my Apple Watch next to the reader and I would like to believe it was akin to watching someone use a Star Trek transporter for the first time.

Anyway, the raving and fanaticism was later followed by a Slack war on which Singapore banks gave the best promotions when using Apple Pay.

We thought it’d be a waste not to share the information, so here’s what we found:

Bank Promotion The fine print at a glance
DBS/POSB 20% cashback 20% cashback is given for a single or accumulated spend of up to S$50. Cashback is capped at S$10 per customer, for the first 50,000 eligible customers. Valid till 24 Aug 2016. Credited within 60 days following the end of the Promotion Period. Full T&C.

Standard Chartered 20% cashback 20% CashBack on your Apple Pay spend amounts, subject to a cap of S$50 per cardholder. The promotion is valid from 25 May to 25 June 2016 (both dates inclusive).
