Applop Mobile Solutions, a SaaS startup that enables smartphone users to create their own mobile app, has raised a bridge round of funding from GHV Accelerator.

The Gurgaon-based startup has received nearly US$250,000 so far, and is seeking to close the current round at US$500,000.

The startup, a part of the NASSCOM Startup Warehouse, had earlier raised US$100,000 from GHV Accelerator.

The startup is looking to use fresh funding for technology development and expanding operations to Southeast Asia. A part of the funds will also be used for marketing and brand building.

Applop is a mobile app that enables smartphone users to create and customise their mobile apps without any coding — all under 5 minutes.

They can also start their own m-commerce store via the app and integrate the payment gateway with it. Creating a digital payment wallet and push notification facility to the users are other facilities that the company provides to businesses.

Applop claims to have helped create around 900 mobile apps till date for its users and almost half its users are paid customers. It has added 3,000-plus clients on their platform, in 127 languages in hundred cities, with revenues of US$66,700 till June this year.

Rahul Singhal, Co-founder of Applop, said, “This is just the beginning of our journey. The market is huge, the opportunity is large. We are focusing on technology and strategic partnerships that can give us the right platform to scale nationally.”

“The world is going to bet high on the Indian mobile app industry. There has been a paradigm shift from dotcom to apps, as users shifts from desktops to smartphone,” said Vikram Upadhyaya, chief mentor and accelerator evangelist at GHV Accelerator.

Gurgaon-based GHV Accelerator mentors startups and provides US$100,000 in seed funding. Its portfolio companies include personal stylist app IStyleYou, ad network AdUrCup, car rental platform My Taxi India, foodtech startup Foodport, online laundry services provider PickMyLaundry and FitMeIn, an online platform that provides access to multiple fitness studios for a monthly membership fee.
