TableHero, an intelligent Operating System for small local businesses, has raised about US$1 million in seed funding, led by growX ventures.

FreeCharge Founders Kunal Shah and Sandeep Tandon, along with IVFA Partner and former CEO of Network 18 Haresh Chawla, besides Powai Lake Ventures and Globevestor, also participated.

The funding will be used for product development and bolster the engineering and product design team.

TableHero was founded by serial entrepreneur Deap Ubhi, who founded burrp! (sold to Network 18). He was previously the COO of FreeCharge, which was acquired by Snapdeal last year.

TableHero is targeting the tech stack for restaurants and small local businesses to help them focus on the business that they know best. It includes a suite of products that will simplify website and digital presence management; reservations, bookings and appointments; and payments, loyalty and customer management.

The company will initially be launching its services in the US. It will be targeting restaurants as its early adopters.

“Our goal is to reimagine the small local business technology stack in a way that makes technology invisible for small local business owners. The first product in this stack will be an intelligence-driven, one-click website maker for restaurants. It completely takes all the effort out of building and managing a digital presence for a small local business,” said Ubhi.

growX is an early-stage investment firm based out of Delhi. Its investments are focused on seed/angel stages across a wide range of sectors. It has invested in 18 companies since inception in 2013, including Claro Energy, Mad Street Den, Quandl, and Locus.sh.
