Edward Keonwoo Lee started out helping the company while preparing for law school in 2011 and went on be a leader in the company as Head of Global Business
Edward Keonwoo Lee, the first person hired at Value Creators & Company (VCNC — known for its couple’s focussed messaging app Between), announced on Facebook last week that he has left the company to join LINE in Korea.
Saturday was the last official day at VCNC for the Head of Global Business and Lee made an effort to thank the global team for helping him become a better leader.
“I started out helping VCNC while I was preparing for law school back in 2011, and joined as the first employee at the beginning of 2012. It was a humble beginning. I still remember how happy I was adding one more like on our Facebook fan page,” Lee wrote on Facebook.
“After that I can’t express how incredible the 5 years were that I’ve spent with the company. I would have never imagined myself walking this road and being the person that I am now. I am grateful to Jaeuk Park (VCNC Co-founder and CEO) for his trust in me and thank all of current and past members of the company for their inspiration.”
Between is a messaging app that began as a tool to let couples share intimate conversations by facilitating private messaging between just two people.
The product has since graduated to offer all sorts of features (like providing weather updates for the location of your significant other and a countdown so nobody forgets those important milestones).
In the Facebook message, Lee said VCNC is ‘poised for greatness’ and that he still needs to figure out his new role at LINE.
e27 has reached out to VCNC to learn about their perspective and how the startup plans to move forward. We will update accordingly.
