“What do you mean I need to take a dating masterclass?”

People entered the dating scene with the ultimate goal of, well, getting a date. But unfortunately getting a date seems to be a well-kept secret reserved only for an elite group of people. And the rise of the digital age has also changed the rule of game, making it even more complicated than it already is.

This is the reason why Indian dating app Woo launched a dating masterclass programme Woo Academy.

Available as a feature on Woo app, the masterclass will be in form of a video series, consisting of ten videos with duration varying between seven to 10 minutes. The lessons will be in form of enactment of real-life situations, and it will offer lessons in various dating-related topics such as creating the perfect online dating profile, finding the right match, and starting a conversation.

More interestingly, the scenes will be played by award-winning Bollywood actor Sudev Nair, who will walk audiences through each and every challenge that may come along.

The advice provided in the masterclasses are backed by researches and scientific inputs by behavioural researcher Khyati Gupta Babbar, a non-verbal communication specialist at India’s leading behavioural institute Santulan.

“Many people are flying blind when it comes to finding their ideal partner. They don’t know what works and what doesn’t … We want to empower our users to take more informed decisions about how they’re projecting themselves, the kind Aof partner they’re looking for and most importantly developing self-assured confidence in their search for their ideal partner,” she explained in a press statement.

Other than Woo, other Asian dating startup implementing behavioural science in its services is Indonesia’s Setipe, which owns its own team of psychologist and relationship consultant.
