Starting Sunday, Netflix and chill will get a whole lot more fun

As Father Time marches on, many people spend their evenings dealing with an existential crisis. Do they hit the bars to let off a little steam? Or succumb to the soul-crushing reality that home is a way more appealing option.

If you’re reading this and have no idea what I am talking about, just wait a few years. It will come.

Now, thanks to UberEATS, you may not need to make that choice anymore.

The company, in partnership with the alcoholic drinks brand Diageo, is launching a ‘Let’s Cocktail’ campaign starting Sunday that will allow users to order cocktail kits to their home.

“We have seen a surge in popularity of cocktails among young adults, however, they often find it too daunting or time-consuming to recreate these drinks and experiences at home. That is exactly where #letscocktail and UberEATS come in, bringing consumers a quick and easy way of creating their own drinks and elevating their night in,” said Fabricio Marques, the Reserve Brand Development Manager for Diageo Asia-Pacific in an official statement.

How Let’s Cocktail works

The programme will last until February 2018 and is in partnership with local bars and restaurants across Singapore.

Interested users will need to log-in to their UberEATS account, select their favourite (or closest) bar and order their desired drink. A cocktail-kit will be delivered in about 30 minutes. The cheapest drinks start at S$18 (US$12.70).

Once arrived, the cocktail kits come with ingredients and instructions to make bar-quality drinks for the evening.

Participants must be 18 years old an live within the UberEATS delivery area (as of publishing, UberEATS covers the vast majority of Singapore from Jurong East to Changi).

Because Singapore restricts the sale of alcohol after 10:30pm, make sure to get orders in before that deadline, or else there won’t be any cocktails for the night.

Next week is ‘International Cocktail Week’ and as part of the celebrations, Let’s Cocktail will include a pairing service with food. So if someone orders dinner with UberEATS, it could also come with a cocktail picked specifically for the dish.

As a special promo to for the launch event, the first six people that successfully order a cocktail at noon on Sunday will win free cocktails (and a bartender) to pour up to three drinks per person for up to 12 people.
