Without further ado, meet the Moderators and Panelists of the first panel of Echelon Thailand 2015, happening on November 26-27 at BITEC Bangkok.
Moderator: Adrian Vanzyl
Adrian Vanzyl is a veteran early-stage investor and technologist in the digital media space, spending most of his career in Silicon Valley in various venture-backed startups. He spent 10 years with Blumberg Capital in San Francisco (most recently as CTO for a US$100 million early stage digital media-focussed fund, where he was also CEO of two portfolio companies). Formerly, he was CTO of Sausage Software (and Board Member at its IPO), CTO of LookSmart (which IPO’d on Nasdaq).
Panelist: Eddie Thai
Eddie Thai is a Venture Partner with 500 Startups, working to develop Vietnam’s startup ecosystem and help build the next great Vietnamese tech company. He has prior experience in strategy and M&A for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 corporations across tech, media and entertainment, telecommunications, financial services and manufacturing.
Panelist: Jeffrey Paine
Jeffrey Paine is the Founding Partner of Golden Gate Ventures, an early-stage technology venture capital fund based in Singapore and investing in Southeast Asia. He started and manages the Founder Institute in Singapore where he is currently overseeing its expansion in Southeast Asia and Japan.
Since 2010, the Founder Institute in Singapore has graduated over 70 companies. He is a recipient of the Founder Institute Director Award in 2012 for “Greatest Ecosystem Impact” Worldwide (Singapore).

Panelist: Adrian Stewart
Adrian Stewart has over 22 years experience with tech startups across Southeast Asia and has spent the last 12 in Thailand. He is currently a partner in Galaxy Ventures, a Bangkok-based builder and investment firm. Founded in 2012, Galaxy Ventures provides entrepreneurs with seed funds, business resources and commercial relationships. Currently, it has six companies in its portfolio, five in Thailand and one in Vietnam.
Panelist: Kay-Mok Ku
Kay-Mok Ku joined Gobi Partners in 2010 as Partner. His previous work experience includes VP of Business Development positions in Xinya Media and MediaCorp, the national broadcaster of Singapore. Prior to that, he was part of a team that managed a SG$500 million (US$351 million) interactive digital media fund at Singapore Media Development Authority. Ku also lived in Silicon Valley for over 10 years, where he co-founded Private Express Inc.
Panelist: Apichai Sakulsureeyadej
Apichai Sakulsureeyadej is Founder and CEO of Thailand’s leading enterprise software company, MSL Software. His company has implemented some of the most important technology solutions for the Thai government.
He is the Founder of Tourism Technology Association, which has received endorsements from multiple Prime Ministers, UNWTO, ASEAN, and other international bodies. He is also the Co-founder of Lyara VC, with a US$9.2 million fund to incubate Thai startups.
