Zomato Base offers a host of features, including menu, recipe and inventory management, besides a payments system, CRM, and real-time analytics

India’s leading restaurant listing, review and booking platform Zomato has launched its cloud-based point of sale (POS) product for restaurants.

Called Zomato Base, it is an Android-based POS system that offers restaurants a host of features, including menu, recipe and inventory management, a built-in payment solution that accepts debit and credit card payments, CRM, and real-time analytics.

Beer chain, The Beer Cafe, is the first to adopt Zomato’s POS product, at all of its 35 outlets across Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Ludhiana.

Rahul Singh, Founder and CEO, The Beer Cafe, said: “By seamlessly integrating operational solutions such as menu management and remote inventory management into a single system, Zomato Base will make our day-to-day functioning incredibly efficient. Started in 2008, Zomato is a restaurant search and discovery app, providing in-depth information for over 1.4 million restaurants across 23 countries. Zomato is used by consumers globally to discover, rate and review restaurants, as well as create their own personal network of foodies for trusted recommendations.

In addition to restaurant search and discovery, Zomato has expanded its offering to include online ordering, table reservations, a Whitelabel Platform.

In September 2014, Zomato raised US$60 million in a funding led by Singapore-based Temasek Holdings, with participation from existing investor Vy Capital.
