Livestreaming platform YouNow is stirring up some new original content with two food-related shows.
What’s on the Menu and Foodie Takes the Streets — which debuted on Friday — were created by RokerLabs, a New York-based video and live streaming studio spearheaded by Today Show co-host Al Roker.

Founded in 2011, YouNow — like other livestreaming apps Periscope and Meerkat — aims to give users the ability to broadcast to a live audience. With these new shows, the platform hopes to attract more 13-to-24-year-old users.
More recently, the platform has been used by various players — including the Huffington Post, Refinery, Buzzfeed and MTV — as a way to reach younger viewers. NBC’s America’s Got Talent has also adopted the platform as a way to audition talent for the show. Read more…
