Help is just an app away

It is easier than ever to start your own business these days, and startup founders are finding that they have all kinds of great tools at their fingertips to help make their businesses grow.

If you are starting, or have recently started a business, you need to find the tools that are going to help you to succeed. The problem is, with so many tools to choose from, you want to know which ones are going to help deliver the best results.

Here’s a list of my 10 favourite productivity tools and resources for startup founders to help get you started.

1. Bornevia

This is an online customer service solution that startup founders can use to manage customer engagement. It combines email, live chat, SMS, and social media, in one convenient place. The price is reasonable, making this a good choice for startups with little capital.

2. Pipedrive

Obviously, you need to make sales in order to grow your business, but CRM software is often difficult to use, and costly. This tool is straightforward and easy to use, and it should not cost a lot of money. The platform lets your team track leads and follow-ups, and forecast sales.

3. SaneBox

Emails can be distracting, but not when you are using a tool that moves the less-important stuff to a special folder that you can view later. You can then look at the stored messages after you have taken care of the important things.

4. LessAccounting

This tool will help to make bookkeeping a whole lot easier. It is a great tool for startups, because the features are mainly for startup founders.

5. Dialpad

If you are starting your business by doing everything with your mobile device, you need to have a good switchboard app. This one can be routed to your mobile devices, so you and employees can take calls when they are not in the office. If your office uses both landlines and smartphones, this tool can be set up so it rings all devices at the same time.

6. G2 Crowd

There is no sense in wasting money on software that isn’t going to work for you. Use this tool to research the software you are interested in to find out if it really does work, and if it is worth investing in.

7. Gadget Salvation

When you need to bring in extra money in a hurry, and you have older devices that you are no longer in need of, sell them through Gadget Salvation. They will give you top dollar for used iPhones, iPads, laptops, and other devices. Simply find your device, get a quote, send it in, and receive payment.

8. Board Management

This is a portal for company board members. It was designed to help businesses collaborate with their boards by offering one place for everyone to log in, schedule meetings, store minutes, find contact information, share files, and a whole lot more.

9. Fiddle

This is a tool that will help you create the perfect business model. Use it to create and share the business model, and add attachments and notes that make it easier for peers too understand the business model, and to contribute to it. This will capture things like customer segments, value propositions, and more.

10. SurveyMonkey

One of the best ways to test or improve on product ideas is to get feedback, and one of the best ways to get that feedback is by using this tool. You can create questionnaires, and even choose the design of your surveys. The best part is, it is free to use up to the first 100 responses.
