Beginning with São Paulo, it plans to eventually cover all large cities in Brazil

Indian healthcare platform Practo today officially announced its entry to Latin American market by launching its products Practo Search and Practo Ray in São Paulo, Brazil.

“After our success in the Southeast Asia markets, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve millions of consumers in Brazil and simplify healthcare experience for doctors and consumers simultaneously. Over the next few months we will expand our coverage and product lines to enable consumers to make better healthcare decisions and live healthier lives,” said Practo Founder & CEO Shashank ND.

The products will be available in Portuguese and English to ensure consumers and healthcare professionals in Brazil can leverage both versions with ease.

Practo is working on to continue adding more doctors on the platform in São Paulo. It plans to foray into Rio de Janeiro by Q2 2016, and eventually ‘all large cities in Brazil’.

In terms of product offering, it will also expand by covering more healthcare segments such as wellness, fitness, preventive, and curative segments. All these services will be accessible through the Practo app.

Practo Search is allows consumers to search and book for doctors appointment, and it currently has over 5,500 verified doctors, nearly 50 per cent of all clinics in São Paulo. Practo does not charge doctors or consumers to find, book, or receive appointments through its service.

As for the recently launched Practo Ray, it is a cloud-based practice management solution for doctors and clinics that allow them to simplify scheduling, calendaring, billing, inventory management for doctors, and even create digital health care records and prescriptions.

To ensure that the data available in the platform is reliable, Practo‘s local team combs through every street to collect and verify information of healthcare professionals to ensure that all listed doctors are legitimate and certified.

Its goal is to list all healthcare professionals in Brazil.
