The Wedding Brigade is wedding planning portal, which sources content, products and services directly from vendors and designers, and organises it in an innovative manner
The Wedding Brigade, a one-stop destination to discover, plan and shop for Indian weddings, has raised INR 4 crore (US$400,000) in pre-Series A round of funding led by Blume Ventures, with the participation of four other angel investors.
The capital will be allocated towards enhancing product and services offerings, growth activities and acquiring talent.
“This round of funding gives us the necessary resources to scale our model at an accelerated pace. With our new brand identity, we are poised to make deep in-roads into our country’s high-growth wedding market,” said Founder Sanna Vohra.
Founded in November 2014, The Wedding Brigade (earlier Indear) is an inspiration, planning, shopping and services portal for Indian weddings. The company sources content, products and services directly from wedding vendors and designers, and organises it in an innovative manner in order to simplify the wedding planning process.
Users can search through thousands of images for inspiration, purchase products from over 75 top designers, as well as book venues, make-up and mehendi artists directly online. Moreover, its expert concierge service helps its customers make bookings within their respective budgets for free.
“Our unique technology-centric model gives users access to all the best content, products, and services to create their perfect wedding. We make intelligent recommendations based on their role in the wedding, or the type of function they are attending, and our free expert concierge service helps facilitate venue and services bookings,” added Vohra.
The Wedding Brigade recently introduced a services marketplace, which enables users to book venues, hair and make-up artists and mehendi artists online, or through its free expert concierge service.
Currently operating in Mumbai and Delhi, the startup will soon expand to other cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. It also plans to introduce new categories such as photographers, caterers and more.
