Apple Pay users will be the first to benefit from this new feature

Singapore-based UOB account holders will have something to cheer for come end September: contactless ATM cash withdrawals.

UOB MasterCard holders using Apple Pay will be the first to benefit, followed by Android OS users — both on MasterCard and Visa — by beginning of next year.

The first contactless payment ATMs will be established at “high traffic” locations including Raffles Place.

60 such ATMs are expected to be rolled out by January, and all 634 UOB ATMs will be equipped with the necessary NFC features by December 2018.
