#Africa How to pitch your startup at the New York Stock Exchange

//

African startups have been invited to apply for the Kairos 50 event, which gives 50 startups from across the world the chance to unveil their disruptive technologies on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

The Kairos Society runs Kairos 50 annually, recognising 50 seed-stage companies that are actively addressing complex global challenges with a market-ready prototype or product.

The selected 50 startups will be promoted at the Kairos Global Summit, where they will unveil their disruptive technologies to the world on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Last year’s event saw over 100 investors attend, with over US$350,000 invested live at the event.

“Fearless, ambitious, and entrepreneurial young minds around the world are leveraging technology to build creative solutions to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Millennial founders are not afraid to dream big to create a better and brighter 2017. We want to amplify their impact,” said Karolina Stawinska, head of the K50 search committee at the Kairos Society.

“I am on a mission to find 50 of the most talented seed-stage startup founders who are pushing industries forward from all corners of the world.”

Each K50 applicant or nominee must be co-founder of their company, have been under the age of 26 when the company was founded, have a working product or prototype, and a business model focused on cutting-edge technology entering outdated industries or new products and services addressing fundamental human needs.

Applications are open here until February 3.
