The project aims to raise public awareness and ramp up protection against the dengue and Zika menace
Singapore-based crowdfunding platform CoAssets has announced that is collaborating with PAP Community Foundation (PCF) — the charitable arm of Singapore’s ruling party — to ramp up the fight against Zika and dengue fever.
The crowdfunded social assistance project will be focussed on the Eunos zone, which has currently logged the most incidences of Zika infections.
The funds will be aimed at raising awareness of the Aedes mosquito and the symptoms of the dengue and Zika virus.
Part of the capital will also be used to purchase dengue and Zika prevention kits such as mosquito repellents and mosquito patches. They will then be distributed to residents of Eunos.
Interested parties can make donations on the CoAssets website from now until October 31, 2016.
All donations made will be tax deductible.
“Our partnership with PCF in Eunos on this first-ever social assistance crowdfunding project…our aim is to provide a very responsive conduit to raise funds to fight these diseases and aid in their prevention,” said Getty Goh, CEO and Co-Founder of CoAssets, in an official press statement.
