The partnership between Practo and Uber will pilot in Singapore, India, Indonesia and the Philippines
Practo, an app that allows consumers to search for and book appointments with doctors, has announced a partnership with ride-sharing company Uber, allowing its users to find and book a ride to the doctor’s clinic more easily.
Piloting in Singapore, India, Indonesia and the Philippines from today, Practo will allow users — on its consumer app Practo Search — to find the closest available Uber vehicle through a reminder issued for their medical appointments. Users can confirm the Uber booking to bring them to their medical appointment by clicking on the alert.
“We realised that transportation issues often bring additional stress to a doctor’s visit — having to drive through traffic, then hunt for parking — all while you or your loved one is sitting in the car feeling ill is a terrible experience,” said Shashank ND, Founder and CEO of Practo. “There are also many patients who may not be able to drive themselves to a doctor at all.”

The partnership will allow the user to view the estimated fare and the waiting time for the Uber vehicle to arrive. Upon booking, the Uber driver will be given the destination of the medical appointment.
New users who book their first doctor’s appointment on Practo can use the promotion code “UBERPRACTOSG” to claim up to two free rides, up to SG$20 (US$14) per ride, with Uber. The offer will be valid till December 31, 2015.
Practo — which is currently available in 10 countries in Southeast Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America — and Uber are looking to expand this partnership to cover more countries.
This partnership follows Uber’s recent Singapore launch of uberASSIST, a service providing trained drivers catering to the needs of the elderly, handicapped and disabled.
