Female founders of African tech startups are invited to pitch at the Google Demo Day: Women’s Edition, which allows startups to showcase their products at Google headquarters in Silicon Valley.

Each year, Google invites a diverse group of startups from the around the world to Silicon Valley to showcase their technology and meet investors and mentors.

Google Demo Day: Women’s Edition is open to early-stage startups from around the world founded or co-founded by women. Successful applicants will visit Google’s headquarters at Mountain View and connect with Silicon Valley investors.

Applications are open here until October 6, at which point Google will select the startups to pitch at the event. Selected companies will be in Silicon Valley from October 31 until November 3.

Google is looking for startups in the B2B or B2C space, with founders including at least one woman. Startups should be actively raising a Series A round of between US$1 million and US$5 million.

Startups will also become part of a global network, and receive focused mentoring, feedback and support from Googlers and Silicon Valley veterans at an exclusive series of talks and workshops.

Google for Entrepreneurs will cover the cost of hotel accommodation for up to two rooms, while for international founders it will cover the cost of air travel.
