#Africa Social Impact Week kicks off in Ghana

//

Social Impact Week, a week-long business innovation and ideas challenge, has kicked off in Ghana, organised by the iSpace Foundation, Making All Voices Count, Hivos, the Doen Foundation and Indigo Trust.

The week features a series of events with the aim of educating and inspiring individuals, entrepreneurs and startups around the potential of social impact businesses.

“The goal is to learn about some of the issues we face in our communities, and to explore the ways we can target these using social and tech entrepreneurship for sustainable impact,” the iSpace Foundation said.

Speakers will include Alloysius Attah, chief executive officer (CEO) of Farmerline, Stacie Irwin, VOTO mobile regional director of programme for Anglophone West Africa, Nehemiah Attigah, project manager of Odekro, and Daisy Chang, science, technology, innovation and partnerships (STIP) Aadvisor for USAID West Africa.

The week will conclude with a hackathon on Saturday, January 30, with individuals and teams invited to participate in the creation of sustainable tech businesses that create a positive social impact. The top three will move on to create an minimum viable product (MVP) with iSpace, while there are also other prizes to be won.
