#Africa Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Forum begins in Lagos

//

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Forum has kicked off in Lagos, Nigeria, bringing together most of the 1,000 entrepreneurs selected into the second cohort of the foundation’s programme.

The two-day forum is held as part of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP), which was launched in December 2014 by the Tony Elumelu Foundation with the target of creating one million new jobs and US$10 billion in additional revenues over the next 10 years.

TEEP announced the selection of 1,000 entrepreneurs for the second round of the programme in March, with Nigerians dominating the selection as 589 entrepreneurs from the country are set to join the programme.

The majority of these entrepreneurs will be in attendance at the Lagos event, which will feature interactive learning sessions, masterclasses and large-scale networking amongst entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers from across the world.

Speakers include some of Africa’s brightest emerging entrepreneurs as well as established private and public sector African leaders, including Nigerian tycoon Folorunsho Alakija, United Capital chief executive officer (CEO) Oluwatoyin Sanni, Hotels.ng CEO Mark Essien, and Parminder Vir, CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation.
