A food delivery startup nabs US$7.5 million in its series B. A healthtech company offering at-home collection for lab tests and an online interior design business also lands funding in our list of funded startups for the day.

Box8

As funding in India’s foodtech sector hits a five-year low, online food delivery startup Box8 has raised nearly US$7.5 million in series B funding from IIFL Seed Ventures Fund and Mayfield.

Founded by IIT grads Amit Raj (IIT-Kharagpur) and Anshul Gupta (IIT-Bombay), Mumbai-based Box8 prepares and delivers over 100 Indian cuisine dishes through 60 stores across Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore. Its team of 1,200 serves 12,000 meals every day, and the startup claims 85 percent of its transactions come from repeat customers.

Box8 began with physical restaurants but moved toward an app-based model later on. It raised its series A round in May last year.

Healthians

Diagnostic startup Healthians has secured US$3 million in series A funding led by Beenext. Japan-based Digital Garage, Beenos, and others also participated.

Founded by Deepak Sahni and Anuj Mittal, Healthians helps customers book blood tests, health checkups, and labs. The startup’s app will also store health and records data for customers. It has a 52-point technology-led quality management system.

The startup gets over 1,000 booking requests a day from Delhi/NCR and has collected 30,000 samples last month. It has over 200 staff members that help collect blood samples from patients in their homes.

Foyr

Hyderabad-based interior designing startup Foyr has raised an undisclosed amount from property consultancy firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) India.

The investment marks the firm’s first investment on the part of its newly-launched real estate technology investment vertical. Though the amount was undisclosed, Anuj Nagpal, vertical leader, said the fund focuses on early-stage companies that need US$100,000 to US$2 million to move from proof-of-concept to growth in 12 to 18 months. It plans to invest in 10 to 15 early stage companies in the first year and a half, including three more that will come before the end of this year.

Foyr, operational in Hyderabad, Pune, and Jaipur, offers online home designs for free. Operated by JBR Interio Technologies, it also has Brick Eagle Capital Group as an investor.
