#Asia 5 Japanese startups to follow at #tiatokyo2017

//

There is a little more than a month and a half to go before Tech in Asia Tokyo 2017. With over 2,000 attendees and a flurry of startups exhibiting their solutions to market problems, we thought it’s about time to give you a sneak peek of some of the startups that will be showcased at Bootstrap Alley. So without further ado, here’s a sample of the participating startups.

Wikilook

Wikilook is a project that combines elements of social media, blogs, and of course wikis, to provide users a highly customizable portal for whatever they want. Users can join or create their own closed communities with different features and content.

Unlike many other platforms, users are responsible for and have full ownership of the content they create. The project also runs on donations, allowing for users to generate their own revenue through the site without the platform taking a cut.

Evaluni

Evaluni is a Tokyo-based consultancy that targets the IT industry. The company offers several different consulting services, including employment strategy, portfolio management, and valuations. Evaluni’s team also includes veteran software engineers who can help on development or train employees to better handle certain problems.

Walk Insights

Walk Insights offers a data analysis tool for businesses. By installing a sensor inside a store, the company can track the behavior of customers inside the store. This data is then provided to the shop owner so they can see what is most attractive to customers, what is ignored, and so on.

The company also offers various other data services, such as advertising effectiveness, supply chain, and staff skill analysis.

Interole

Interole is a social media company that aims to reduce the information overload that can happen on other services. The company’s project Connoba shows only information posted by users near you. If you are looking for a place to eat or shop, the app will use your location to see where local users like to eat or shop. The company also develops a similar app called Connoba Dog which focuses on giving local info related to walking or caring for your dog.

Studio Ousia

Studio Ousia uses AI to simplify and automate customer service. Its flagship service QA Engine automates online helpdesks and chatbots to give quick and accurate answers to customers’ questions. The system’s AI won first place at a quiz competition for AIs in the US last year.

The company also offers an automated hyperlink system and keyword extraction AI.
