#Asia 5 startups exhibiting for the first time at TIA Singapore 2017

//

Tech in Asia Singapore 2017 is once again proving to be the place for startups to present their new technology to the marketplace.

From an initial 75 startups five years ago, the upcoming sixth edition will see 280 startups from all corners of the world, travelling thousands of miles to showcase their innovative products at Tech in Asia Singapore 2017.

And here are five budding startups who are exhibiting for the very first time this May 17 & 18:

1. AiChat

What’s your one-line elevator pitch?
AiChat is a conversational artificial intelligence for businesses.

What problem(s) are you solving?
With the integration of conversational AI, we solve a broad range of business challenges. From sales and marketing, customer service to customer relationship management.

What makes you stand out from your competitors?
AiChat is not just a chatbot building tool. We’re a platform with a suite of tools that integrates seamlessly into your business and automates processes in sales and marketing, customer service, CRM and monitoring of customer’s data.

What do you want to achieve out of exhibiting at Tech in Asia Singapore 2017?
It’s all about networking. We look forward to meeting more people who could potentially be our business partners, customers and investors.

What does 2017 hold for you and your company?
2017 is the year of conversational commerce/chatbot for Singapore and South East Asia. We’ll be expanding our team to cater to this growing demand.

2. Stendard

What’s your one-line elevator pitch?
Stendard is a cloud-based software that simplifies the process for medical device companies to fulfil international regulations, such as ISO 13485, CE Marking and US FDA 21 CFR, before products are approved for commercialisation.

What problem(s) are you solving?
When complying with international standards and regulations, medical device companies often incur a significant amount of cost and unnecessary delay in their project timeline.

This is due to the lack of knowledge within the regulatory space, and a software tool to help them better manage their compliance workflows.

What makes you stand out from your competitors?
Conventionally, compliance documentation is performed manually, and this is very time-consuming for the companies, many of them startups. Stendard is the first to help small businesses achieve compliance in a fast, convenient, scalable and affordable manner.

Think Quality, think Stendard. That’s our vision, and we are passionate about it!

What do you want to achieve out of exhibiting at Tech in Asia Singapore 2017?
Getting to meet more customers, partners, investors and to learn from everyone!

What does 2017 hold for you and your company?
2017 is a very important year for us because this is the year that we’re launching Stendard! We’re focused on helping our initial pool of customers achieve their certification in a fast, convenient, affordable and scalable manner. That’s our objective and a priority for 2017.

3. Regit

What’s your one-line elevator pitch?
Regit is an integrated communication platform for management and exchange of personal information.

What problem(s) are you solving?
We empower businesses and individuals to take control. For businesses, we enable access to clean data. They won’t have to deal with incomplete, incorrect and stale customer data ever again.

For individuals, we offer a personal secured cloud service to organise and manage their personal information. With Regit, they won’t have to fill out forms or entries manually. Instead, they’ll have access to use this information whenever and wherever.

What makes you stand out from your competitors?
We provide a total solution, solving customer data management issue from end-to-end. Whereas our competitors either address a component or only solve a problem specific to their product.

What do you want to achieve out of exhibiting at Tech in Asia Singapore 2017?
We hope to meet an affirmative investor, as well as showcase and launch our product.

What does 2017 hold for you and your company?
My team and I will continue our mission to grow our product, cultivate brand evangelists, and endlessly execute.

4. Mobscale

What’s your one-line elevator pitch?
Mobscale is a marketing automation platform that solves the problem of churn in mobile apps using user-level personalization & contextual omnichannel targeting.

What problem(s) are you solving?
App owners face the problem of rising cost of user acquisition. On top of that, return on investment which is entirely driven by user retention is also going down.

Marketers use a mix of tools in the industry to measure and re-engage users. But most of these tools do not provide user-centric re-engagement. They do not have context on the user, nor do they provide deep engagement insights for the marketer to make business decisions.

So a typical user engagement strategy would look like this: Carpet bombing users with notifications/ emails/ SMS. With no personalisation, scheduling, targeting, or tracking.

What makes you stand out from your competitors?
Large enterprises have large amounts of transaction and customer data which can’t be integrated into existing SaaS solutions. Our solution integrates seamlessly with customer’s existing data and customer campaign tools (e.g. MailChimp, Twilio).

Also, no SaaS solutions are on-premise ready, and large enterprises see great value in this aspect. We solve this problem with our unique one-time pricing model. We are also able to solve large whitespace that most of the solutions don’t solve in certain verticals.

What do you want to achieve out of exhibiting at Tech in Asia Singapore 2017?
We are looking to meet customers and potential investors.

What does 2017 hold for you and your company?
In 2017, we are venturing into machine learning based predictive learning algorithms. I believe this will add incredible value to our customers. We’re also expanding into the South East Asian market this year.

5. Translin

What’s your one-line elevator pitch?
Translin is an innovative, cost-effective and scalable online marketplace for (i) anyone (consumers, companies, organisations and governments) who needs a skilled interpreter, and (ii) for skilled interpreters to find new clients.

What problem(s) are you solving?

  1. Lack of Access: The market for interpreting services is very large but fragmented. This causes (i) difficulty for clients in finding a skilled interpreter, and (ii) difficulty for interpreters in finding clients. Translin resolves both by providing easy access, matching real-time supply and demand through the click of a button.
  2. Lack of flexibility, cost and time efficiencies: Interpreting services are traditionally provided on location. This lacks flexibility and causes significant inefficiencies concerning cost and time (management time, idle time, travel time and travel expenses, overspending on minimum offtake).

Translin’s online platform puts the interpreter virtually “on location” but only as and when needed. We provide full flexibility for both interpreter and client, delivering maximum value in a time and cost-efficient manner. Translin also significantly reduces the intermediary costs which are costs that benefit neither client nor interpreter.

What makes you stand out from your competitors?
We are a first mover and bring real innovation to the interpreting world. We challenge the traditional slow and cost-inefficient business model for interpreting services.

Our online platform matches demand with high-quality supply globally in real time and at a fraction of the cost. We are unique because we offer practically every language combination in all sectors and industries on one globally accessible platform.

What do you want to achieve out of exhibiting at Tech in Asia Singapore 2017?
We want to meet and communicate with customers, investors and business partners to market our platform, further enhance technical performance and secure phase two funding.

What does 2017 hold for you and your company?
We will expand the platform, add more features and launch our first marketing campaign. I am personally extremely excited about this.
