Airbus BizLab in India will be co-located with NUMA
To capture the innovation and entrepreneurial wave in the country, global aircraft manufacturing giant Airbus has set up its first Airbus BizLab accelerator, in India—third in the world.
Airbus has collaborated with French startup accelerator NUMA in Bangalore to mentor new businesses in aerospace that can provide solutions to help the company.

Airbus has opened a first round of applications for start-ups seeking support in the region, and NUMA Bengaluru has already selected 11 startups from over 200 applications for the first batch.
The two companies aim at creating synergies between their accelerators, from startup selection to specific events that will benefit from their respective ecosystems of mentors, experts and investors.
“With the Airbus BizLab Bangalore, we are broadening our horizons and we aim to accelerate the rise of an Indian aeronautical entrepreneurship,” said Bruno Gutierres, Head of Airbus BizLab.

The airplane maker launched its first global aerospace business accelerator in Toulouse in March 2015 to bring together startups and Airbus employees or ‘intrapreneurs’ to work and speed up the transformation of their innovative ideas into valuable businesses.
Through the BizLab, early-stage projects will be offered a six-month ‘acceleration programme’, which gives access to a large pool of coaches, experts and mentors in various domains including technology, legal, finance and access to market.
