Aladdin Street Singapore, a member of the Aladdin Group, has recently announced that it will be the world’s first premium quality products and halal e-marketplace to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The e-marketplace will feature only premium quality and halal products that cater to both the B2B and B2C communities via its two e-commerce platforms – Aladdin Street Singapore (domestic e-platform to be launched in the 4th quarter of 2016) that caters to the domestic market, and Aladdin Street (International e-platform to be launched in the 4th quarter of 2016) that provides Singapore producers, manufacturers and businesses access to the global e-marketplace.

Aladdin Street aims to provide a trusted and secured e-market platform for both merchants to trade, and consumers to purchase premium quality and halal products in total peace-of-mind.

The announcement of Aladdin Street Singapore adds to the list of 29 other countries that the Group has since entered into joint ventures with for phase 1 in countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Morocco, Mauritius, Iran, The Middle East, Turkey, Europe, The United Kingdom, The USA and Canada.

The Aladdin group has allocated up to US$130 million to promote and support the Aladdin Street brand name all over the world in the next 3 years. In addition to these global marketing efforts, Aladdin Street Singapore will further invest S$2 million (US$1.48 million) in phase 1 to support its domestic efforts to make the Aladdin Street the brand of choice for halal and premium quality products.

Aladdinstreet.com.sg targets to achieve over S$50 million (US$37 million) in sales within the first year of its launch. The e-marketplace also collaborates and works with government agencies, trade associations, chambers of commerce and halal certification bodies to help Singapore SMEs access the global e-marketplace via the Group’s international network.

“The direction and future for e-commerce and changes in consumption patterns are obvious and unpreventable,” said Grace Kong, Aladdin Street Singapore Co-founder & President, in a press statement.

“Increasing rents and manpower shortages have caused retail shakeups and are preventing promising small businesses from setting up shop. Aladdin Street Singapore will be the next best alternative where merchants are also partners, and we will work closely with them to develop their businesses for a win-win-win partnership,” she added.

Established in mid 2015, the Aladdin Group is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is helmed by Co-founder and Malaysia’s first astronaut, Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al Masrie.
