The latest move follows the introduction of its SIM Only Plan last year
Is Singtel egging for a price war with MyRepublic? Just hours after the potential fourth telco released its mobile price plans, Singtel announced the launch of its new add-on DataX2–which will double its post-paid customers mobile data plan for a flat fee of S$5.90 (US$4.20) per month.
For example, a customer on a S$62.90 (US$45.50) a month Combo 3 Plan with 3GB of data, can simply add DataX2 to upgrade to 6GB of data for S$5.90 (US$4.20) more a month, said a press release.
This move follows Singtel’s shift towards more data-centric services beginning with its SIM Only plan. It could also be a sign that the telco is gearing up to thwart MyRepublic’s entry into the telco market.
Customers will able to apply for this add-on from 10 March 2016 onwards.
