Who better to speak about startup ecosystems than someone that manages not one, not two but 15 different startup ecosystems in the Asia Pacific region? e27 are excited to introduce Karen Mok, the current Asia Regional Manager of Seedstars World as a keynote speaker on the Innovation stage at Echelon Indonesia 2016

Karen is a powerhouse in the startup industry. As Regional Manager, Karen manages a diverse portfolio that requires her to juggle many hats, including launching Seedstars in new emerging markets, develop regional and country-specific strategies for business development and sharing her experience at conferences all around the world. The impressive part? She does all these while constantly travelling as part of her quest to bring the best startups to the Seedstars World summit in Lausanne, Switzerland.

At Echelon Indonesia 2016, Karen will share on the difficulties that impede startup ecosystems in emerging markets, and use her experience to compare the complexities of entrepreneurship in different countries. Expect to learn how to apply real-life solutions to your startup, incubator, or even the industry.

Karen graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis in the United States where she double majored in Economics and Strategy and International Relations. Most recently she was the User Experience Lead at Timeline.com, an early-stage media tech startup in San Francisco. She was the San Francisco Community Ambassador for Thousand Network, a community of young global changemakers.

Prior to her startup experience, she was an international development consultant with Dalberg Global Development Advisors where she led the ICT for Development practice area. She was the co-founder and CEO of Mahila Mobile, a social enterprise to increase women’s access to mobile phone technology. When she’s not scouting startups across Asia, Karen can be found trying new cuisines and documenting her thoughts on innovation at the intersection of design, community, and technology.
